The Ozin Group shows how decorating silicon nonosheets with palladium
nanoparticles renders the process catalytic, a breakthrough with far

Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport, announced today the funding recipients from Genome Canada’s Disruptive Innovations in Genomics.

Professor Aaron Wheeler will receive $3m in funding to develop a safe, inexpensive, and non-invasive prenatal diagnostic test.

Professor Scott Mabury: 'Plucking Solutions Out of Thin Air'

Professor Scott Mabury's research into perfluorinated acids have led to national policy changes on products that put their precursors into the air. He spoke with Research2Reality about these airborne pollutants.

“They were waste products that (neither) industry nor government knew were there, so they didn’t know to regulate them,?say Mabury. “We discovered them in the atmosphere, worked them back to where they came from.?/p>

Simulating climate change in the lab

Professors Jessica D’eon, Kristine Quinlan and Scott Browning, alongside Postdoctoral Fellow Jennifer Faust (Abbatt Group), created a first-year chemistry laboratory meant to improve students?fundamental understanding of greenhouse gases. They're featured in the Varsity this week.
